SVR 5th August

Arrived at Bewdley and was given advanced warning that 3802 was on a gauging run from Kidderminster. My ham egg and chips had been ordered before I knew about it, so that was kept in the oven for me while I took some photos.
Other locos running were 4566, 5164 and 7802.

7802 was on the train back to Kidder, now on one of those noisey 150 units heading home.

5164 on my train from Kidder to Bewdley at 1140. 4566 was waiting with the train to Kidder. Will find out what the 3rd loco is later when I catch it on my way back home.

Shakespeare Express 1st August

Felt like a ride across to Dorridge to see The Shakespeare Express this afternoon, seeing as it doesn’t cost me anything on the local train! 4965 was the loco and it made a change to see a fast moving steam train.

4 locos seen today, 4566 s/b near Arley with the Venturer set. 7812 was next n/b. The Limited was hauled by 7802 and crossed with 5164 on a s/b train.
A dull day and I didn’t take any photos, how unusual.

44871 and 46233 at Crewe

A day trip to Crewe via Shrewsbury. 44871 was heading south with support coach for the Cambrian trains this summer and the West Coast 33 was bringing the stock from Carnforth. 44871 would then haul the train from Crewe with the 33 on the rear. 46233 was running from Butterley to Crewe with support coaches.
After seeing the trains at Crewe, I headed for Shrewsbury to see 44871 again.

Highley today, Ffestiniog Railway loco “Prince” is now in The Engine House, brought in by road today. 7714 was shunted out by an 08 to enable access for unloading. Other locos running are 4566, 5764 and 7812

SVR 15th July, 3802 towed to Bridgnorth

7812 on my train from Kidderminster, crossing with 5164 at Bewdley. Just finishing lunch as D8188 arrives with a tenderless 3802. After waiting for 7812 to clear the section, D8188 continued north towards Bridgnorth. 43106 was on my train back to Kidderminster.

DRS Open Day at Crewe

Had a visit to the depot at Gresty Bridge. Plenty of 37s, 66s, 57s and a couple of 20s
