I usually manage to miss 6M67, so as the Class 47 was also working to Worcester it was worth a visit to try & see both trains. This week it was a success, but I was surprised when it ran straight through Worcester, as whenever I try to see it locally it is usually held until much later, passing through my area when it is too dark for photos. Also, I was pleased to see “James the Engine”, last time I saw the loco it was in the usual DRS livery.
47749 was moving some wagons from Long Marston to Llanwern. With a couple of HSTs and the empty steel train from Round Oak to Margam, it was a pleasant few hours out.
