SVR 7th March, final day of “Reunion” gala

…and the sun shone all day! As yesterday, I parked at Arley & caught the train to Highley, but making sure I was back at 12.00 to meet Margaret & KC for a sandwich. This was KC’s first visit to the railway for many weeks, she doesn’t like sitting in waiting rooms near a fire that crackles & we don’t like sitting out in the cold with her. Easy solution is to leave her at home, but with warmer weather hopefully coming soon – we’ll all be happy.

5786 did not run today, due to some problem, 5764 took its place and 46443 stood in for 5764. After lunch I headed back to Highley & The Engine House, for several reasons – it is busy there with the local trains shunting, making the most of not having KC – which prevents me going in and also it provides warmth whilst waiting for the next train. So, I make no apologies for more photos from Highley.

Tomorrow I will start sorting photos from today.

Update 298. Severn Valley Railway Spring Steam Reunion Gala, 06/03/10

It was a dull day on Saturday, but I’ve sorted through the photos and uploaded the better ones which show the trains seen during the day. It was a challenge to get reasonable results – but that’s half the fun, if the sun always shone it would be all too easy. Basically the same locos as the previous day but with 7802 standing in for 78019 on the first round trip.

You’ll see that Saturday has its own album, as does Friday now – see how easy I make it for you!

Unfortunately 5786 failed & didn’t run on the Sunday, so here is a shot of it running with 5764…..
