Another Coppermine gallery upgraded

After working on KC’s gallery last week, I spent some time on the “Midlands” gallery and that one is now using Coppermine 1.5.8. One thing still to do is enable comments. “Comments”can be a problem when bots & spammers keep submitting the usual rubbish, but there are better ways to eliminate this now, so I will get that sorted soon.

Finally, there is Sharpos-World gallery to upgrade. Before I do that, must check I have everything backed up. With over 50,000 files I don’t want anything to go wrong!!!

Update 400. 45305 on The Capital Five, passing Small Heath, 06/11/10

Having  missed this loco on a test run a few weeks ago, I was determined to see it on this train. Small Heath was my only option for a shot, being a direct journey on my local line. I was worried that the sun would be directly above the train, having been caught out in the summer with it being on the other side of the train, but the results are very good.

This comes out well as a “framed” shot:-

SVR November 6th & 7th

Trains are only running between Kidderminster & Highley this month. On Saturday, 4566 was working with a 5 coach set on the one service, and the 3 car DMU was working the other. On Sunday with the diner running, 43106 was on the “limited” and 4566 & the DMU worked the other services.

At long last, he’s upgraded my Border Terrier Photo Gallery (says KC)

My Dad must be getting old, it has taken him nearly a week to upgrade the Coppermine photo gallery to the latest version.

Oy, KC – stop being cheeky! Dogs just don’t understand how complicated this can be. It has taken me a long time to make some alterations that will hopefully improve the gallery. As yet, I have not added my usual yellow background to much of the page, but it does show around the thumbnails in the filmstrip and around the “intermediate” image. One new feature is an arrow at the top & bottom of the fimstrip, enabling you to move up or down the thumbnails before you select a larger photo to view. Another feature is using the keyboard “arrows” (left arrow moves to previous image, right arrow to next image, down arrow switches file information on or off & finally the up arrow takes you up a level, which is from images to albums. Probably haven’t explained that very well, but give it a try.)

Finally, it should be possible to add comments again. I switched that off years ago, due to all the usual spam, but hopefully most of it will be filtered out, but I’ll see how that goes. Any rubbish that does get through is easy to delete.
