A day at the KWVR. I felt quite at home with 1501 & 7812 visiting from the SVR! Other locos seen running were 1704, 4160, 45305 & 90733 (running as 90711) The WD 2-8-0 hauled our train from Oxenhope to Keighley, where most of the photos were taken, the return was behind 7812 – which was really struggling on the departure from Keighley. I didn’t get so many action photos this time, but did film several of the departures from Keighley. That reminds me, I haven’t been keeping the list of videos updated!

90733 running as 90711, reminds me of the Idle branch back in the 60s

The SVR Diesel Gala is over and the visiting locos are leaving. The convoy is seen passing Langley Green this morning – good job I have a long lens as the “king of bowled” would’ve copped it again if I’d been down on the platform. The destination is York NRM, via the East Lancs Railway to drop off 37109.

The weather let the side down today, as you will see from the photos it was either very dull or very wet most of the time. Locos seen were D3201, 12099, D8059, 24081, D6700, 37109, D821, 50031, 50135, D1062, 55002 & the DMU. Stations visited were Kidderminster, Arley, Highley, then Bewdley on the way back to Kidderminster. The bonus was 66154 on a Round Oak to Margam train.

5081 (24081) in pouring rain at Highley

My only video of the day, showing no. 1 heading the local train to Bridgnorth. There are more videos of this loco to come, taken the following day at Highley.

I had a ride to Highley behind D6700 today. Our train waited at Bewdley for 55002 to arrive on a Footplate Experience working. The journey back from Highley was behind 5164 & 4566 (not photographed) was on the other steam working.

D6700 moves the empty stock into the siding at Highley

The two locos are seen crossing onto SVR tracks, but unfortunately they stopped under the footbridge so no other photos of them. 5081 was working the diesel turn and is seen returning from Bridgnorth. 4566 & 5164 were on the steam workings & 66035 passed by on a Round Oak to Margam working. The real bonus was 6M56 with 37611 & 37259 heading for Crewe.
