After 3 busy days filming at the SVR I needed a change of scenery and could take Mrs. S and KC with me! The miniature railway would be running trains plus the added attraction of minature traction engines. No hills to climb so no strain on KC and by the time we got home she’d probably walked about 4 miles – so she has got over her leg injury from last month. This video is mostly trains, the second, not yet uploaded, has a few more traction engines.

Three clips, in reverse order – the first clip is of 60096 on 6M51 Baglan Bay – Chirk log train, running rather late – much to the annoyance of Mrs. S who was at home anxious to get her beauty sleep! Next is the Tesco 4M36 Wentloog – Daventry with 66301, and finally seen much earlier in the day a training run using 153365 on 5T01 Tyseley – Kidderminster – Snow Hill.

On the first day of the Gala at Kidderminster I was standing for about 7 hours as I filmed the trains, so on this day I wanted something more relaxing. With a couple of folding chairs, Andrew and I had an easy day as the trains rolled past, filming from about 10am through to some time after 4pm when the late running 15.49 off Kidderminster with 73136 passed. Heading back to the car we just managed to catch a glimpse of 56078 to finish off our day. There are two videos to cover the day, the first has 50031, 66726, 88010, D832, 55019, D9551, 50049, 33108, D1015 and 47712. The second has 37688, D9551, 47712, 50031, D821, 50049, 55019, 56078, 50035, 33108 and 73136. Oh well, just day 3 to do now, I didn’t bother with the mixed traction day, went for some miniatures instead.

I don’t like starting the day at silly o’clock but timed my arrival at Kidderminster to film the shunters departing on the 09.25 local and stayed to see D832 depart on the 16.11. Most of the filming was from the footbridge, the final videos from alongside the car park. There are seven videos for this day with a running time of about 85 minutes. Locos seen in the videos are listed below, a few units are also seen as they just happened to pass by as I was filming something else, although I purposely added the new livery WM Class 172 172339.

Another one of those days with little choice for photos. Sutton Flyer and Sutton Belle at Cleethorpes Miniature Railway in 2004, 46443 and D1062 at Arley in 2009, 43106 at Highley in 2010, with commemorative headboard, 40 years since the official opening on May 23rd 1970. 31466, 50026 and 57003 at Kings Norton in 2012 and 46233 at Dorridge in 2015.

After a mad rush to the station to see the 88 which ran early the previous day, I had to take it easy to see 66726 and 47712 returning to Crewe – so ambled out of the house before their booked departure time from Kidderminster. Unfortunately they didn’t run! I had been told they were on the exchange siding with 88010 on Sunday, but the working was obviously cancelled. All I filmed was 153365, which was a very unusual sight – don’t think I’ve ever seen a 153 unit run this way on its own. It was showing as 5T10 Tyseley – Snow Hill.

I know I posted a couple of photos a couple of days ago, but here is a link to the video. I don’t know if 88s will ever work a Berkeley flask run so this might be a rare clip of an 88 round this way. The working was 0Z79 Kidderminster – Crewe, following an appearance at the SVR Diesel Gala.
