This evening I will just add a few photos but post the video tomorrow along with the remaining photos. Having stopped the “on this day” posting there is more time to try and carry on with more recent photos and videos. I spent some time at Small Heath and tried a new location to see the Polar Express, bit overgrown by trees though! Went back to the station after filming it.

Photos and Video, 2857, 7714, 1501 and 6990 Kidderminster 09/12/18 part 4

Final video and mostly of the Panniers. After the arrival of 2857 the Panniers have their bunkers topped up with coal then shunt round to couple up for the next departure. Fortunately 6990 wasn’t completely bowled but as in an earlier video I didn’t get a proper video of the Panniers departing.

Third video, featuring the locos as above and of course “Jean” on the Coalyard Miniature Railway. I could probably have combined the final footage into 1 video as there isn’t as much left as I thought, but this uploaded overnight – so here it is. Probably see more photos of the Panniers in the final video so just Taw Valley photos below.

My first visit to the Severn Valley Railway this month. Arriving by train, I had to watch the clock as trains back home aren’t very frequent on a Sunday – but managed almost 4 hours with plenty to see and film. The first photos are included here along with the first video which runs for almost 19 minutes. There will be more to follow when editing and uploading are complete. Quite a contrast in photos, some in full sun, others in shade with white sky above – not easy to get good results!

Track laying at Echills Wood Railway in 2006, 66706, 66766, 66767, 66768, 66769, 66770, 66771 and 66772 at Rowley Regis in 2014, 60015 at Stourbridge in 2015, Bowled 37611 and 37219 at Tyseley in 2016 and finally 80072 at Kidderminster in 2017.

That really is FINALLY! I keep running out of time creating the images and writing this page. If all the images were already on line it would be so easy to just link to them but in recent weeks I have had to search through many videos to find a frame to crop, then upload etc. At least I’ve kept this topic going for 11 months and not missed a day, and it has been interesting for me coming across forgotten memories. Time to start those winter projects……

Photos and Video, 68012, 66177, 66152 and 66768, also some units, Tyseley 04/12/18

After a visit to Kings Norton earlier in the day, when a test train and HST power car move had been cancelled, I wanted to try and see a few more trains so went to Tyseley. It was a rather dull afternoon but in the hour or so that I was there a 68 and 3 Class 66s were filmed along with a variety of units. The video came out reasonably well but the photos aren’t too good due to the poor light. Final photo was at Moor Street.

December 9th will have the last “On This Day” post

I’ve so many other things to be getting on with that I’m having a break from this topic. It can be very time consuming, although interesting for me. There was a time when I could prepare several days in advance and in October, when away in Cornwall for a week, all the postings were set up and scheduled before leaving home.

My photo galleries need reorganising, I’ve not added postings about video updates or cropped many images from those videos – so there is a lot to do. Perhaps future postings will be more about “now” than the past, we’ll see what happens……

I’ve got the right date in the heading today and corrected the one for yesterday!! 48773 at Bewdley in 2002, 45110 and 42968 at Rifle Range in 2003, 42968 at Safari Park Curve in 2008, 37606 at Kings Norton in 2011, 20227, 20142, D8059 and D8188 at Old Hill in 2012, 92214 at Arley in 2014 and finally 22 alongside Birmingham Snow Hill in 2015..
