Trams had started running on the new extension earlier in the week. I spent an hour or so filming the trams, and you will notice no overhead wires on the new section – they run off batteries. Only 3 photos added here, but the videos in the playlist run for about 26 minutes. At a later date I will try and crop more photos from the videos.

Hadn’t planned to see this, when I first checked if it was running, it hadn’t left Derby. After getting home after walking the dog, I checked again and it was just coming through Walsall. Had time to feed the dog, get my camera gear ready and walk to the station. Burned off a few calories walking nearly 3 miles in total!!

A quick visit on a cold and windy day to see the Polar Express arrive. Didn’t have to wait long, after 68014 departed with the London train it wasn’t many minutes before 45305

Had it quite a few years but after the move last year I left it outside for a bit too long and thought I’d killed it – as it lost a lot of leaves. It did look a bit miserable over the winter but now has some bright red bracts.
57301 was working 5Q94 Allerton – Long Marston with the 319 units. 139002 also seen in video, as is 172339 which blocks the going away shot.

A late blog post for December, a pair of 37s on the 1Q16 Swansea – Derby test train. It sounds great on the video, approaching slowly then roaring past!! It was booked for after 6pm in the dark, but ran over 3 hours early and so in daylight.

With nothing happening of railway interest locally in the past week it has given me some time to try and catch up with all the updates I’ve missed during the last year. I think the calendar was blank for the whole of 2019 but I’ve just added the entry for December 28th which was my visit to Kidderminster. To catch up on “everything” I’d have to live to be a hundred, but in the meantime – if no new stuff to do, I’ll refresh my memory of past events and add more to the calendar and galleries.
After not updating the calendar for over a year, I’m trying to get back into a routine again.

I keep taking photos of units but never check the numbers so don’t know if they are “cops” or not. Probably seen all the local ones even if I haven’t actually filmed them. The photos are in the order seen, as I was filling in time until the 60 appeared.
