Echills Wood Railway (Kingsbury)

The official opening of the new railway at Kingsbury Water Park

14th July 2007. Pete Waterman was the special guest performing the opening ceremony at the new site. Over 30 locos were to take part in the grand cavalcade during the afternoon, and fortunately the weather was on our side!

My photos have been put into two albums. The first album shows the two trains for invited guests, followed by the grand cavalcade of locos. The second album shows a variety of trains running during the day, some carrying passengers, others with a good selection of freight wagons.

A steam launch was also in action on the lake. There were other attractions, such as miniature traction engines etc. but my photos concentrate on the railway. To see the other attractions, follow the link to the Echills Wood Railway Observer (below)

Album 1 - 59 photos
Album 2 - 75 photos

I can’t give any details about the locos seen at the railway today, as I don’t know them! However, I have a forum which has a photo of each loco and you could always ask for information if you need it. Maybe some of the club members or loco owners would be willing to answer any questions, or even to add a few details for all of the locos.
Here is a link to the section of the forum which lists all the locos, including some others seen at other railways:-
