About “Sharpo’s World”:-

“Sharpo’s World” has been around for quite a few years now. It started off as a very basic web site with a handful of small, poor quality photos. The software I used was free and came from a computer magazine cd. It did the job, but only just.
I then started using an early version of NetObjects Fusion, version 4 I believe, which was also from a magazine cd. It was much more advanced than the software I was using, allowing me to build better sites. I am still using NetObjects for text pages but in combination with Coppermine Photo Gallery for displaying the albums of photos.

Earlier this year, all my web pages were “hacked” and the sites had to be made inactive. It did not take too long get the Coppermine galleries working again but the old web sites had to go - it would have taken too long to correct & upload all the pages again. So now I am concentrating purely on the galleries. Unfortunately, as I write this, the web pages to accompany the photo albums have not yet been re-written, but I hope to work on them over the winter months. So, for now, I hope you will enjoy the photos and accept my apologies for the many broken links from the photo captions!

I’m keeping these pages as simple and easy to navigate as possible, and from this page will just lead you to the 3 photo galleries which hold all the photos:-

1. Sharpo’s World - the main gallery, this link will take you to the main page.
After an earlier experimental gallery, just to see how it all worked, this gallery was started in January 2006 and holds over
11,000 images. It shows photos of miniature railways, narrow gauge railways, standard gauge railways - both main line and preserved, with many steam diesel & electric locos. There are also thousands of photos from traction engine rallies, showing traction engines, steam rollers, old cars & commercial vehicles etc.
Miniature Railways - the index page has now been completed & lists all the “miniature” photo albums
Links below I am still working on
Narrow Gauge Railways test link - Modern trains test - Main Line Steam test
Preserved Railways test link - Tram test link

2.
KC’s Photo Album
We have a Border Terrier called KC, born in 2006. She has restricted our days out a little, but with the cost of motoring these days that is no bad thing. Fortunately, she isn’t bothered by the sight or sound of steam trains and drags us to the stations at the Severn Valley Railway most weekends. Anyway, the album contains over 200 photos of her, the first of which was taken when she was only 4 weeks old.

3. Mostly Midlands Railway Photos
I had many photos which did not easily fit in my Sharpo’s World gallery, so started another one. Most of the photos were of “ordinary” main line trains taken randomly around the Midlands, so that started as the basis of the gallery. To add to the variety, 3 friends have added some photos as well. So, diesel locos, electric locos, dmus, emus & even a few steam locos can all be seen in this gallery, which will continue to grow.
