I really ought to think about this before the 25th of the month, but being organised just isn’t me. Thanks to KC for sitting still.

Just got back from a sunny week in Cornwall. Saw a couple of trains running at Bodmin but it wasn’t meant to be a “railway” holiday – so not much train video. Thinking about the “list”, which doesn’t really exist, there are still videos from the SVR Diesel Gala to do, the Steam Gala, trains at Stafford, 7¼” train videos and probably much more. Mustn’t forget all those jobs in the house and garden as well…….
Oh well, will I ever catch up????
I don’t know where the time goes. I have uploaded many videos during the past month but just didn’t have the time to update the blog. The trouble with that is I forget the usual routine and it then takes ages to remember how it’s actually done and also to add the event in the calendar. Anyway, the most recent videos have been added & I’ll try to work backwards through the other uploads
…and of course I’m behind with all the updates, as usual.
Most of the bedding plants are in and the hedges have been trimmed, so maybe I can find the time for adding a few more photos and videos.
After a wet an windy week in Cornwall, things will be back to normal tomorrow. A few videos at Boscarne Junction was all I managed as we walked the dog, and weather conditions weren’t good. Oh, mustn’t forget the train ride at Oakhampton with the 08 shunter in charge.
So far this month I haven’t see a train, but February looked as if I went out a lot. Trouble was, it was all the usual local stations except for visits to Tamworth & Nuneaton. I’ve probably uploaded many of the videos but need to add the links from the calendar to the blog entry, so hopefully the “red” entries should soon change to different colours.
I think I’ve set up the calendar just the way I want it. The old calendar was separate from this blog but this new one is a plugin within the blog – so hopefully will be easier for me to maintain & update.
So far, just the month of March has been entered on the calendar. Entries show the dates I filmed some trains, if the colour is red – it means I haven’t uploaded the videos yet (so expect plenty of those!) but other colours indicate subjects filmed, green for SVR, black for modern traction on the mainline, grey for steam on the mainline & purple for trams.
If I keep seeing red – it might prompt me to sort the videos & upload them, at least I will be able to see what is outstanding.
So follow this link to see how it looks so far
Clicking on events, other than red ones, will take you to the blog entry with a brief description & link to any videos. It would be good to think I could work backwards and work my way through the years when I took photos – but that would be a very long job!
After changing the theme for this blog I decided to try adding a mobile theme as well. That seems to work well. One problem to resolve is how the list of “pages” is displayed, the old theme only displayed the main headings, not all of them – something else to look into. Oh, typed this using tablet and mobile theme!
I’m trying a new calendar within the blog. It didn’t work properly with the old theme – so am experimenting with a new theme. The appearance is slightly different, the pages are wider & youtube videos appear much bigger as well. The calendar is for past events, it might even help me with updates I have missed – that is if I can remember to update it as I take videos. The plan is to show events in “red” until they are uploaded, then change them to another colour. If you follow the link below, you will understand what I mean. That reminds me, the latest videos haven’t been uploaded. Only set up in last few hours, so that is the reason for only a few entries, and they don’t include links to videos yet.
Since yesterday, it seems 234 spam comments have been stopped. That saves me a lot of work!
If it continues like this I will leave the comment option enabled, not that I get many comments that need answering
This is part of WP-SpamShield. I doubt if anybody wishes to contact me, but the option is now there – as long I don’t keep getting spammed!!!
(The link to “contact form” is on the right of the screen)
Long time ago I switched off the “comments” option – because spam kept pouring in. Just decided to try WP-SpamShield plugin to see if that eliminates most of it. I’ll give it a try for a few weeks to see what happens. I did briefly try yesterday without the plugin activated and about 40 spam comments were added, since activating the plugin earlier today there has been no spam comments added.
