It was supposed to be a light engine move from Washwood Heath to Carnforth, but 61306 only made it as far as Walsall, where it was shunted into the sidings with a tender spring problem.

All sorts of things get in the way when photographing from a train!
We just happened to be down in Cornwall for the Saturday & Sunday of this gala. The cottage we were staying at was within walking distance of Boscarne Junction, so that is where many photos were taken. Photography was not easy, with rain much of the time. Locos in action were 1369, 1501, 1638, 4247 & 6435.

Travelling to the KWVR by train meant I only had just over 5 hours there, so had to make the most of that time. Diesels working were as follows – 20020, 20031, 25059, D7628, 26038, 37075, 37264 & D0226. My first journey was with 20031 & 20020 From Keighley to Oxenhope, then 25059 & D7628 to Haworth. From Haworth, 37264 to Oxenhope and back to Keighley. 85 photos in total uploaded, 25 of which have been included in another album for a “quick view” of the day.

During our week in Cornwall we only had one train journey, behind 4247 from Bodmin General to Bodmin Parkway & return. Note the sun was shining, just for a change!!

You’ve probably noticed I’m working backwards through my photos again. I’m sure if they were added in time order then I’d probably still be uploading those from the year 2006. Just the usual Arley trains seen in this update, most locos backwards as well.
5164 on the Limited
No service trains were running on this day, but 7812 & 34053 were in action. We visited Arley Arboretum and saw the trains in the distance.

We had booked for a meal on the Venturer and as it was members & shareholders weekend the workshops at Bridgnorth were open for visitors. We waited for our train to be shunted into platform 1 after the Limited had departed, so there was not very much time to have a wander around, but I did take a couple of photos. Almost forgot, the loco on our train was 2857.
I think the last time I photographed 75069 was in 2002, when it carried the number 75072 during the S&D weekend, it wasn’t in working order though.
Not a very sunny week, but I did see some trains at Bodmin & KC enjoyed her walks along the Camel Trail.

I had been hoping to see 34007 on the second train from Kidderminster, but it had been replaced by 2857 due to a problem. Never mind, I took plenty of photos of it over the past few weeks.
I wonder if a 28XX ever did work “The Red Dragon”?
The weather is improving & KC is now coming with us at weekends. A few photos at Arley before heading to the arboretum for some long shots across the valley. Little did I realise that these would be my final shots of 34007, as it did not run on Sunday – and I missed the chimney first northbound shot as it worked the first train off Kidderminster and not the second as planned.

34007 has been turned, and it hauled my train to Highley today. Travelling back to Kidderminster, 2857 was hauling the train. 5164 was the 3rd loco working service trains & 1450 was at Kidderminster on Footplate Experience.
