First visit to Barnt Green station – saw 4 freights
I don’t like taking photos in the same place all the time, so decided on Barnt Green, hoping to see the Fastline coal empties. Managed that, also the empty tanks from Westerleigh and empty steel train from Corby.
Full details on this page in a new site, intended to give information on updates :-
New bay platform at Kidderminster
Called in at Kiddy today, looks like the trackwork has been completed -well, levelled & ballasted, can’t say signalling etc. is complete. The platform itself has still to be finished though.
They do some good meals in the King & Castle restaurant – which is open lunchtimes even when trains aren’t running. That’s where we were today, not much else to do for a meal out at this time of year. Must say I’m looking forward to the good weather & meals outside Bewdley buffet when trains are running.
60163 “Tornado” (photos from Jonathan)
Haven’t seen the loco myself, as yet, but Jonathan saw it on a test run today between York & Leeds. He sent me 4 photos & I added them to the gallery:-

Hot water now comes out of the taps
and the radiators are no longer stone cold.
Well done British Gas. From when the gas supply was turned off on Thursday morning to connect to the new gas main in the road, we were without heat or hot water for 5 days because they couldn’t get the boiler to re-light.
I think a letter of complaint will be composed shortly……
Missed 97303 at Walsall today
Trekked all the way across there by train just in time to see it go by as my train was pulling in to the station. No choice but to come straight back home. Hey ho!
The gas man came – then went away again!
It’s not that part that was faulty – can’t get other part ’til tomorrow…….
Index pages to the “Midlands” photo gallery
Started it a year or so ago, but the pages were deleted after the hacking problems last year.
Just finished uploading the pages again, which should make it easier to find the individual photo galleries than browsing the thumbnails
Acronis – for backing up files & hard drives
In the March edition of Personal Computer World magazine, the cd contains a free version of Acronis True Image 10 software. I bought the version 10 software some time ago & have found it very useful for recovering files from backups after hard drive problems. I don’t know if the free version is exactly the same, but for the price of the magazine (3.99) it is a bargain.

Well, a 59 has been repainted & displayed at the NRM. Wonder how long before I see something in the new livery?
