47375 & 47727 at Walsall

Wrapping up well against the cold, Andrew & I headed for Walsall – hoping to see a couple of Class 47 diesels. The day was a success! Advenza 47375 was first to be seen, moving some Freightliner container wagons to Long Marston (similar to the move a couple of days ago with 47810) Later on it was 3rd time lucky for me, 47727 appeared on driver training from Rugby.

Cotswold 47810

The success of the day, seen at Northfield, unfortunately the only one!  31601 on a Derby to Laira working seemed to go back north before reaching Water Orton. Next miss was at Aston, 47727 went through a few minutes before I arrived. Try again on Friday…..

Loadsa snow!

A few inches of snow had fallen by Monday morning. Not having many recent photos of trains in the snow, I decided a few hours out was called for. The closest & cheapest “worthwhile” place was Walsall, with one of the Class 973xx (37s) due through early afternoon. I managed an hour or so over there, got some photos including 97303 and 4 x 66s. Busy sorting the photos now, will post maybe tomorrow.
