Day out to Oxford

70013 “Oliver Cromwell” was the main attraction, along with the 47s on the Thursday only Burton to Dollands Moor working. The bonus, which I only found out about the day before, was a pair of DRS 37s on an Eastleigh to Crewe working.

Makes a change to go somewhere different, and to have sunshine. Even more photos to sort & I’m getting quite a backlog now.

More on the Blog update

Nothing is simple these days, well, not for me. I’ve set up at test blog & installed version 2.8.3 using a MySQL 5 database and then imported the postings from the current blog. Also installed a later version of the R755 theme.

At the moment the text looks a different style & size, just to confuse me, but hopefully I can learn how to change such things. In the next day or so I will make a copy what will be the old blog and replace it with one using the newer software.

Update 165. 4936 “Kinlet Hall” working “The Severn Valley limited” at Arley

I didn’t see 4936 working on Saturday, as I was at Barrow Hill, but on Sunday it was hauling the “Limited” diner. As it is staying at the Valley for the next couple of months, there should be more opportunities for photos before it returns to Tyseley, where it is normally based.

SVR 9th August

From down by the river, 5764 seen trundling along with teaks & Venturer diner cars. At Arley, 42968 worked the next northbound, crossing 46443 with 1 coach on Footplate Experience. Then the visitor, 4936 on the Limited set, crossing with 7802 on a southbound train. Lovely weather as well.

Update 164. Tamworth High Level – 43013, 43062, 47501, 60049, 60061, 66011, 66027, 66067, 66081, 66113, 66146, 66541 & 66595

A few hours at Tamworth on 6th August. These are the photos of trains on the high level line which run through Water Orton. The DRS 47 no. 47501 was on hire to Colas as none of their own 47s were available. The NMT was a bonus, as was 60061 on 6E41 and 60049 d.i.t. in the 6D44 Bescot to Toton.

I think the most unusual is 47501 on the Colas working:-
