My Dad took me up the local station for a ride on the train. It turned out to be a noisy diesel – I wouldn’t go on it! I prefer steam trains.
( good job “Dad” didn’t have to buy a ticket, as he would’ve been most upset at wasting money!)

The “Hall” is due to spend a couple of months or so at the SVR and should be working trains during this period. It had worked the “Shakespeare Express” trains to Stratford today and headed for Kidderminster after returning the empty stock to Tyseley.

Dry day usual routine, 4566 seen in the distance as we walked by the river. Up at Arley station 46443 on Footplate Experience with 6 coaches, crossing with 7714 on a train for Bridgnorth.
7812 was on the GW diner & 42968 on train from Bridgnorth.
KC stayed at home in the dry, we caught the train from Kidderminster to Arley. 4566 was on our train, 37906 crossed with us at Bewdley, then 7714 at Arley. After sandwiches at Arley we returned behind 42968.
I’m sure KC was pleased she stayed at home – it was really wet!
Two workings of interest, a Class 31 no. 31190 from Tyseley to Washwood Heath and “Castle” 5043 from Tyseley to London with coaching stock for a special. Check the updates for links to photos.
At Bewdley, 4566 was seen working a train to Kidderminster and 7802 on a Bridgnorth train.
Stopped off at Kidderminster & noticed 20059 had arrived and was on the turntable, check latest updates for the link to the photos.
This working was in preparation for a London to Stratford upon Avon special on the Saturday. What with the Class 31 diesel an hour or so earlier, then this, I’m making the most of my free local rail travel in the West Midlands area.
