A very dull day, so photography was more challenging – but after the previous two days with good results I took the opportunity to have an easy few hours.

Three locos in one shot
Another successful day on the photography front. Managed more shots of the Class 14 today but only saw the Class 31 on one train. The photos say more about the day than I can put into words – well, it is late & I’m tired.
The sun was shining much of the time so plenty of good photos. Visiting locos are D306, D9520, 25263 & 31190 with the following from the home fleet also operating – D821, D1062, D3022, D8059, D8188, 12099, 37906, 50031, 50044 & 50049. D3201 was also on display in the bay platform at Kidderminster. 14 locos in action hauling trains can’t be bad!
31190 leaving Bewdley
Oops, just realised I hadn’t linked to these albums. I think I covered most of the locos quite well on the first day, so these are just a few extra photos.
One from the 24th
One from the 25th, there wasn’t much sun!
I was at Kidderminster again, this time for the arrival of 31190 & D306, two of the visiting locos which are attending for the Severn Valley Railway Diesel Gala which starts tomorrow. As on Monday, 828 was also seen on a photo charter.
I just happened to be at Kidderminster at the right time to see the arrival of the Class 14, it was totally unexpected though. Fortunately I had a camera with me & took a few photos. There should be plenty of opportunity to see it in action during the Gala later this week.
Not the best shots, as it was still on the transporter.
The Severn Valley Railway Diesel Gala starts on Thursday and 50049 & 50044 arrived from Cardiff today. As I waited on the footbridge at Kidderminster, a steam loco could be heard in the distance – it was 828 on a photo charter. I knew it was running but wasn’t expecting to see it. Also seen was 66519 on 6G43 Croft to Brierley Hill grit stone train.
50031 can also be seen in the background
3 service trains were running today with 43106, 4566 & 2857 in charge. The 4th train, hauled by 7812, was a wedding charter & there are several photos of the loco shunting 6024 at Bewdley & then heading the train towards Bridgnorth.
The headboard can be seen here as the charter passes through Bewdley
After a hot day yesterday, we decided to leave KC at home. Usual routine though, Bewdley to Arley & back on the train. The trains we saw were hauled by 4566, 7812, 42968 & 43106. Before we arrived, 828 had run to Kidderminster to turn, but we did see it later in the day as it headed to Bridgnorth with 2857.
