At least I have a day out tomorrow to see a few trains. The NMT, hopefully GWR 5972 and also a 56, plus whatever comes my way. I never plan too far ahead – it gets complicated!

Added side thumbnails to KC’s gallery
Something I have been wanting to do for ages. The other 2 galleries were altered months ago, so it has taken me ages to get round to altering this one. Trouble is, leave something for a week or two and you forget how it’s done! Maybe age has something to do with it??
SVR 12th July
Yes, Arley again. Straight to the station today, as it was starting to rain. 7714 was on the first train we saw, heading for Kidderminster on The Venturer set.
After eating our sandwiches, we decided to have a ride to Highley. 5764 was on the train with the teak set. In the other direction, 7812 was on a footplate charter with a GW set.
We returned from Highley behind 42968, which crossed with 7802 on the GW diner.
Weather was nice so we stayed at Arley for another cuppa, only half hour or so to wait for 7714 to return with the Venturer diner set. Oooh, the smell of food made us hungry…..
They took me on the train today
Yesterday, my walk was just round the local park, then they put me in my cage and went off to the railway without me.
Today though, I had a treat. We went to Arley, but as it was starting to rain the walk along the riverbank was cut short and we went up to the station. They took me on the train to Highley, there was just enough time for a quick walk down to the river before catching the next train back to Arley.
One disappointment though, the calves weren’t close to the fence where we parked the car at Arley, so I didn’t have a chance to see them. Maybe next week?
SVR July 11th
Weather a bit “iffy” today, so took KC for a walk, then, leaving her at home, went to Kidderminster to catch the 12.35 to Arley, hauled by 7714. At Bewdley we crossed D1062 on the diesel turn, 7802 crossed our train at Arley.
Time for sandwiches before catching the 1.57 from Arley, hauled by 42968. Made a change from driving to Arley, but KC wasn’t so impressed.
SVR 9th July
Bewdley at lunchtime. Just missed seeing a train depart for Bridgnorth, but could hear it in the distance – was told later it was 7812.
The trains we did see were hauled by 7802 and 7714.
Arm now out of plaster
Yes, the cast was removed today.
Very difficult moving the wrist at the moment, also rather painful. I am managing to type with 2 fingers again, but mostly with the left hand.
KC has a visitor – Fletch
A week or so ago, Sarah, the lady who grooms KC, brought her 5 month old German Shepherd round. It was the first time another dog had been in the house and we were unsure how KC would react, but there wasn’t a problem. KC thought it was great fun and both dogs were very friendly to one another.
As always, a photo included here:-
KC’s tail is wagging so fast, it has come out blurred in the photo.
Another nothing day
Thought I would have been able to add a couple of photos to KC’s album, but it didn’t go to plan. Maybe tomorrow?
The ones I missed today
On the route through Bromsgrove, a Bath to Saltburn train t&t by 47s. Also, another 47 returned D1062 to the SVR via Old Hill.
Blame it A – on the weather, or B – fed up with the plaster cast on my arm!
SVR 5th July
Arley area again. 7714 southbound, then 7802 northbound. At the station, 42968 n/b and 5764 s/b. 46443 arrived with diner, ran round, returning to Kidder.
A Spitfire was due overhead at around the time of the next trains, I saw 7714 arrive then concentrated on the sky. Managed some shots of the ‘plane, probably as the next s/b train arrived. Knowing it would return within minutes, I was looking skyward as the train departed & didn’t notice the loco which passed under the roadbridge as the Spitfire flew overhead. So much for paying attention, could only be 7812 or 4566?
SVR 4th July
Arley area as usual. 7714 southbound, then 7802 northbound. At the station, 42968 arrived on a northbound train, crossing with 7812 heading south. Half hour or so later, 46443 arrived & ran round the diner before returning towards Kidderminster.
No ‘plane today, and we didn’t see the 6th loco running.
