Most of the photos were taken at Arley on one of our regular weekend outings, although there was a brief visit to Kidderminster to see “Tornado” pass by on a special to Worcester (already mentioned in a previous posting)

Last week a Hall, this week a Castle – and some sunshine! I’m so used to seeing them trundling along the Valley at slow speed, it makes a change to see a steam loco at speed!!
Tornado is seen accelerating away from a station stop at Kidderminster and heading for Worcester.
A nice close up shot
Having run from London to Worcester in the morning, the train is seen on the return journey in the evening. A Class 66 diesel is assisting at the rear of the train.
First sighting as it rounds the bend
My first Shakespeare Express of the year, hauled by 4965, seen steaming through Dorridge.
Steaming well with safety valves blowing
Haven’t seen one of these for ages, but managed to get to Acocks Green to see this one. I was watching the clouds come and go as I waited, but fortunately it was full sun as the train passed by. First time I had seen 47790 in Pullman livery.
Changing trains at Moor Street, I noticed one of the loco-hauled sets and realised the stock now had the Chiltern lettering & livery. So, took a few photos before continuing my journey.
Part of the lettering can be seen here
Just managed to get KC walked around the park & made it to the station to see 172333 pass through. Must say I’m looking forward to the introduction of these new trains in the coming weeks, as the old Class 150 units are very noisy and in this weather, very hot.
This run was for invited guests and was also mentioned on the local BBC news.
