The sun was shining as we waited, it was running a few minutes late but was going well as it headed past and on up the Lickey Incline, destination Preston. I’m used to trains running at “Severn Valley Railway” speeds & this one seemed to be going much faster, trouble is though, mess up your photos and there’s not another one along in half an hour or so.

I wasn’t expecting it, but a few minutes later D1015 & 47760 followed up the Lickey – quite a surprise. Probably exlains why there was no banker on the rear of the GBIII.

This is what it looked like

We travelled from Bewdley to The Engine House for lunch, our loco was 42968. 5164 was seen working a southbound train, closely followed by D8059 which spent some time shunting at Highley. Next seen was 7802 on a train for Bridgnorth, then D8059 headed south with a very short train. Finally we returned to Bewdley behind 42968.

We called in at the station for lunch. The 2 trains we did see both entered the station at the same time and from where I was standing there was only the opportunity to photograph 1 train – at least it was the chimney-first one!

Easter Monday and we were in the Arley area, again. Just for a change, we walked towards Victoria Bridge instead of up river, at least it varies the photos a bit!

Also seen is the LMS dining coach, 7511, and a bit of colour from some daffodils.
