I was hoping this would run round “The Dark Side” as I had not seen Class 57s on the Bridgwater to Crewe working before. A lack of recent sightings led me to believe I had missed it, but then I heard it was at Kidderminster, so I was soon heading for the station – and made it in good time!
Just for a change, went to Rowley as the light was better than at Old Hill:-
Organised by Compass Tours, the train ran from Hereford to Durham. 47826 is seen making rather slow progress through Old Hill on the outward journey, and running about 15 minutes late.
A ride from Bewdley to Arley & back. 37906 was our loco on the way there, 5164 on the return. D821 was on Driving Experience & 43106 on the Limited. The poppy field was looking good again this year, unfortunately no sun, but I have included a photo.
