This was the highlight of the day, top and tail 37s on a test train. As always here, it is a gamble as to where to stand. Any extra trains have a habit of passing through at the same time as a train on the other track and I played safe by standing close to the footbridge – ready to cross over if it looked like I would be bowled. Today I was lucky, but it was a near miss – watch the video! Link to YouTube video.

Another chance to see a freight diverted away from the Lickey, due to engineering work at Bromsgrove. I was expecting it to stop at Stourbridge for a banker and was following its progress – but it didn’t run into the loop. I grabbed my camera bag and headed for the door, just making it to the station as the train was approaching. I was puffing and panting so much you can see the vapour from my breath drifting in front of the lens as I filmed.

The final part of this set of photos/videos. The freight is still held at Blakedown after the SPAD, another Voyager heads south, no doubt to be stopped at a red signal just down the line! At least another loco arrives, 68014 – it should have run through to Kidderminster according to RTT, but terminated here and ran into the yard. Link to YouTube video.
