Video, 66181, 139001 and 66160, Stourbridge Junction 10/01/20

Just a video again for this post. The two morning freights are seen down the Junction, the northbound one was running 38 late down Worcester way and through Droitwich but was given a clear run through Kidderminster and was only 20 late at Stourbridge, and no unit blocking the view!! Will sort some photos another day.

I’ll try adding the YouTube clip below.

Video, 60019, Smethwick Galton Bridge 09/01/20 (and some units)

Another little outing, just to get the 60 on 6E08 Wolves – Immingham, but I did film a few units as I waited. Numbers were 350232, 170506, 170510, 350114, 350410 and 170503. Wonder if that was the first of the new 350 units I’ve seen?

As usual these days, I don’t seem to have time to work on the photos, but the video link is below.

Video, 153361 and 170270 plus other units, Snow Hill & Dorridge 08/01/20

An ecs working from Cardiff to Tyseley was tempting, no idea what would be on it, at least it wasn’t local units. The remaining clips are the units filmed at Dorridge on the day I saw the 47 and HST power cars.

Numbers of units seen 153361, 170270, 165011, 172343, 172219, 172217, 168109, 168112. Mustn’t forget tram 17. No time to crop photos for the gallery just yet – another job to add to the list!!

Photos and Videos, 5 diesels, Kidderminster 23/12/19

Another post for the above date, this time showing each of the diesels seen running. I had seen there was an ecs working to Bridgnorth so made sure I was there to see that, always good to see a class 37.

Photos, 3 steam & 5 diesel, Kidderminster 23/12/19

21 photos added to my gallery, too many to show all of them in a blog post.

They were filmed in the following order – 13201, 37688, 43106, 50049, 75069, 40106, 34027 and 33108, also the Coalyard Miniature Railway. I will add another post tomorrow with the link to the 2 videos and include a photo of each loco seen. Not enough time to get it all done today.

Photos and Video, 37612 and 37219, Cradley Heath 24/12/19

Wasn’t expecting this until after 6pm and in the dark but a text from a friend got me out the house at the double and I was rushing off down the road to the station, got there puffing and panting a couple of minutes before it appeared. Another one of those occasions when a train was due on the opposite track, but this time it worked out very well. The 37s were only a couple of minutes behind another train and probably on “yellows”. The unit at the other platform was blocking the view of the signal and the driver had to approach slowly in case it was on “red”. I noticed the shadow appear and started filming before the train came into view, then once he had a clear view of the signal, which obviously wasn’t “red” he opened up and the 37s blasted past me.

The train was 1Q16 Swansea – Derby and 216 minutes early, bostin’ stuff!!!

Photos and Video, 6960, 43106, 37688 and 40106, Kidderminster 28/12/19

This is the last day of service trains from Kidderminster SVR until April due to engineering work on Falling Sands viaduct. During the next 3 months when trains are booked to run it will just be between Bewdley and Bridgnorth. Three trains were in service, the diesel service being top and tailed with 40106 providing steam heat. The new main line station is nearer to completion than the last time I saw it but I’m not sure when it is due to open.

A few photos at Kidderminster 28/12/19

I didn’t have time to write the standard blog page and add the photos and link to video but in an attempt to make more frequent postings, here are the photos just uploaded in the gallery. Will try to post a proper page tomorrow, but in the meantime you can see them in my gallery.

Locos are 6960, 43106, 37688 and 40106, also the new Kidderminster station but still under construction.

Let’s hope I have more time for my hobby in 2020

2019 was a busy year, didn’t get to see many trains other than some of the local ones and some SVR galas, but not all!!

I was hoping to start “on this day” photos again, but couldn’t find the time. No doubt there will be other jobs I can do like cropping some photos from the videos, anyway, we’ll see what happens over the next few days.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
