Bewdley, lunchtime, same 2 locos seen working as last Monday – 5164 & 7802.
There was also a Footplate Experience running, but didn’t see that.

56303 at Burton, a few hours later 47848 & 47839 at Burton, 37059 & 37609 at Derby, and finally 31465 also at Derby. A good day out to see some of the older diesels.
Quite a few photos to sort now……
Called in there on Wednesday for a look round. A few m0re buildings have appeared since my last visit. The tram was running but we walked around the site, didn’t even manage a photo of the tram but I’m sure I’ve plenty from previous visits.
Will upload a few photos in a day or so.
Now my back aches!
Saw the 2 service trains at Bewdley, 5164 & 7802 were the locos. At Kidderminster 50026 was on the turntable, looking very smart. Took a few photos, but can’t upload at the moment.
Second day of the Seaside Special Weekend, and it stayed dry! Only saw the headboard on one of the trains yesterday, so we headed straight to the station today. First train we saw was carrying “Pembroke Coast Express”, which I had seen yesterday, but “Cambrian Coast Express” was on the dining train, so I did get to see the other headboard after all.
Must mention the station staff who “dressed up” (or is it down) for the occasion, they looked the part, as you will see in the photos – well done chaps!
Great headwear…..
Second day of the Seaside Special Weekend. Only saw 4 of the trains today, 5164, 7802, 7812 & D8188. I expect the other was 4936, which would have come through Arley tender-first – so didn’t miss any worthwhile photos.
Something different to go with photos of the above locos, Morris Dancers in the station yard. I remember taking photos of other Morris Dancers many years ago on the platform at Bridgnorth. They certainly brightened up the yard with their colourful costumes.
For once, not a train photo:-
A memorable day for 7802, carrying a headboard to commemorate 100,000 miles in preservation. Unfortunately it was running tender first for my shot, so unable to get a decent shot of the headboard.
Just a few photos of the 2 locos.
The headboard carried was to commemorate the retirement of Bernard Rainbow, Chief Loco Inspector at the SVR.
After seeing the 33 & 37 at Small Heath, I met up with Margaret & we were across at the Severn Valley at the usual time. 4 steamers & 1 diesel in action for the “Seaside Special” weekend. I managed the usual sort of photos of each of the trains.
One of the trains was carrying the “Pembroke Coast Express” headboard:-
