I had been using the camcorder today, then when I was about to film the next train I noticed something across the bottom of the picture – it was part of the lower lens cover. I’d not had this problem before & didn’t know what the cause was. I gave it a gentle nudge & it opened fully. After filming, it wouldn’t close. The top part made a weak attempt to close, but if I turned the camcorder over it would open again. I continued using it during the rest of the time I was out.

Back home, I did a search on the internet. One of the suggestions was to use a piece of paper and gently slide it into the gap where the lens cover fits into. YES, it fixed it, a little bit of “something” dropped out as the lens cover shut itself.

Problem solved.
