When this photo was taken it had not entered public service, but was in use for a private party – the team who had helped to renovate the coach, and vary nice it looks. The next day it was in use on the Venturer dining train.

A nice start to the week, a Class 31 through Bromsgrove with 6 x Mk2 coaches. A tamping machine also passed by, crossing over to the s/b siding.

I was very surprised to see a Freightliner Class 66 was due through Cradley running light engine from Stoke Gifford to Rugeley and return. As there would just about be enough light for a photo it was worth a shot. From what I can gather, it might be a diversionary route for coal trains when the Severn Tunnel is closed for maintenance.
