In 2009 on this day I think the highlight for me was a pair of 97s at Wolverhampton, on a driver training run from Barrow Hill to Shrewsbury. 13 photos at Wolverhampton, including a few units.

Nothing for the SVR on this date in my photos, but in 2013 I must’ve gone to Kidderminster Railway Museum for lunch and taken some photos of units in the snow. So unexciting that they never made it to my gallery, but have added one here.

In 2015 I must’ve had a few hours out, Dorridge, Kings Norton & Rowley Regis, quite a few to videos to choose from but I’ve gone for the 37s at Rowley Regis, 37612 & 37606.

Looks like it’s 2011 and another shot of the “Pretendolino” as it arrives at New Street. Only 3 photos but not very exciting, so only showing this one here without the link to the others.

Looks like it was a very brief visit to New Street as just over 2 hours later I was at Arley. No trains to see here though, as major engineering work was taking place. A search of my gallery shows 5 photos in the album.

In 2014 at Acocks Green, 31105 is seen propelling a Derby to Old Oak test train. A search for other photos from that trip out just shows a few units.

Looks like a visit to Bewdley in 2010, 7812, 43106 & 46443 seen working trains, only 4 photos come up in the search. This photo shows 2 locos that are now out of service.

A year later in 2011, 90045 was working the “Pretendolino”, seen at Birmingham International. The search brings up 4 photos, the first being at New Street, so I probably travelled on it to International.

Looks like I visited Bewdley & Highley in 2010, probably travelling by train, and also visited The Engine House. 43106 & 46443 photographed working the trains plus some of the exhibits on show. 11 photos in the album. I’ve chosen 46443 to add here as it’s one of the locos not in service at the moment.

A video from a year ago shows 31452 at Old Hill, taking 50007 to the SVR, then later returning light engine.

Looks like another visit to Bewdley and lots more photos not in the gallery. I haven’t time to sort through them, so just the smaller image here showing track relaying in progress. If time permits I might get round to editing and uploading at a later date as they are a bit “different” to the usual photos taken here.

Remember I went to Longbridge to see the 47 which didn’t run? Well, I was back there again today and almost missed it, just getting one shot as it passed by. There isn’t a proper album for the day but a search will show the 3 photos in the gallery which include the NMT.

Back in 2007 we visited the Churnet Valley Railway and 61994 was in action, along with 7821. Had an enjoyable walk with KC along the canal from Froghall to Consall and back, managing a few photos on what was not meant to be a railway day out! 13 photos in the album.

The only other railway item for this day is a video of 47798 at Old Hill in 2015 hauling a coach from the SVR to Carnforth.

I think I’ve got more photos of KC than trains at this time of year. Back in 2007, looking at photos it appears we had a drive past the floods at Eardington and on to Highley where we saw a train and The Engine House under construction. I’ve just added a small album with 8 photos.

The lack of photos means I’ve had to resort to a video, showing 68012 propelling on a test run returning from Stourbridge to London. Presumably 67s were the normal loco on these trains in 2015.

I couldn’t find an SVR photo for this date in any year, other subjects also limited. The best I could do at Longbridge was an HST, it seems the train I went to see didn’t run! Looking back, 47727 was supposedly running from Rugby – Westerleigh. Oh, cheer up, it ran 3 days later, you’ll have to wait 3 days to see it!! No proper album for the HST shot

This day in 2013 wasn’t very productive either, a Pathfinder tour at Smethwick Galton Bridge, just 3 photos in the album.

Another day with a limited choice of photos.  I did have a day out to London, with a variety of trains seen – most were units though, but a pair of 67s at Marylebone is the photo I chose from the 52 photos in the album.

D8188 had been receiving attention at Washwood Heath and was returned to the SVR by 47727, seen at Old Hill, 10 photos in the album.

I think I have some videos for this date within the last couple of years, but not the “photos” to add here. Also, I spent a few hours at Stafford today, so plenty of material for future years on this date.

Not so much to choose from today. At least it was a weekend in 2010 and the SVR were running trains, and from the look of it top and tail formation. Not easy to get both the locos on one train in a single shot, so this shot was taken at Bewdley where the trains crossed. My gallery has 37 photos, the other 2 locos were 42968 and 43106

There were some photos from other years, but never uploaded to the gallery, the only easy photo to post here was taken at Stourbridge Junction, showing 950001 & 139001. The gallery album has 14 photos of it at Old Hill and Stourbridge but I doubt if it’s worth the effort to follow the link just to see that.

There was some snow at the SVR in 2010, 7812 and 42968 are seen at Kidderminster, also from photos in my gallery – of which there are 40, so plenty to see!

There was a time when I could get to see some freight down the Junction, but now it’s just one train most days – but too early for me, so, a memory! 66183 at Stourbridge Junction. The other photos in my gallery include 950001 at Old Hill.
